Ukraine media “Russian secret service officer wanted by Ukraine as suspect MH17”

Ukraine media FACTS is reporting that Ukraine put a Russian GRU officer on the wanted list as he is suspected in involvement on the downing of MH17.

The man wanted is Oleg Vladimirovich Ivannikov also known by the callsign Orion. Ukraine secret service SBU published multiple tapped telephone conversations in which a man using nickname ‘Orion’ (Oreon) can be heard. Bellingcat reported Orion is highly likely named Oleg Vladimirovich Ivannikov. Ivannikov is a suspect for being responsible for arranging the transport of the Russian BUK TELAR which shot down MH17 at July 17, 2014.

Ukraine SBU announced that Ivannikov is now internationaly wanted. Information about this is published on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Ivannikov is  suspected of part 1 of Article 258–3 (“Creating a terrorist group or a terrorist organization, leading such a group or participating in it”) and Part 2 of Article 437 (“Conducting an aggressive war”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

He is also suspected as being a leader for  “Wagner” mercenaries in the Luhansk region.
