Ukraine wants to use this information for an application at the International Court of Justice against the Russian Federation. Ukraine blames Russia for financing terrorism and also holds Russia responsible for the downing of MH17.

In the case at ICJ MH17 plays only a minor role. Also the annexation of Crimea and helping the separatists in Eastern Ukraine are part of the case.

The information obtained by the Netherlands could be used in the ICJ case to prove Russia financed terrorism.
