At July 17 2016 it is two years ago since MH17 was shot out of the sky by a BUK surface to air missile. 298 people were killed.
The date will be used by various parties involved to spread their message. Some main stream media will be happy to publish unchecked stories just to get some extra income from the clickbait.
This post will provide an overview of propaganda articles.
English newspaper the Guardian knows for sure Putin brought down MH17. The newspaper even knows that the BUK was launched from a field south of Snizhne. So far not a single authority confirmed this.
The plane had been brought down by a missile, fired from a Buk surface-to-air launcher parked in a field near the village of Snizhne. It had been smuggled across the border from Russia. Evidence now in the hands of Dutch prosecutors suggests it had come from the Kremlin’s 53rd anti-aircraft missile brigade, based in the Russian city of Kursk.
Australian newspaper Herald Sun quotes Ukraine’s ambassador to Australia Mykola Kulinich which said it was possible the international team could hand down findings as early as Friday. “The team is to make it very clear who they are, and to bring them to justice,” he told the Herald Sun. “Quite evidently, all of them are of Russian origin, from Russia itself.”
On Friday July 15 SkyNews Australia reports as well the report “could be released today”. No mentioning of the source, no background information on how likely such a release would be.
It is extremely unlilely JIT will hand over the results as members of Dutch prosecutor visited Moscow last week to request Russia to hand over radar images.
So likely the ambassador talks nonsense.
Next is Russian websites which started to publish articles about Bellingcat. All articles focus on the career of Higgins. Examples of posts here, and here. In total there are at least 17 ! such posts. None of the posts present any evidence against the arguments of Bellingcat. Basically the posts are lame attempts to discredit.
Moscow based Komsomolskaya Pravda has never been very unbiased. It is a pure Kremlin controled newspaper. All the nonsense like MH17 was redirected over a warzone by Ukraine air traffic controller is reprinted again in this article.
Europrada has a story written by the Ukraine ambassador to Argentina.
Various Ukraine websites recycle a couple of statements made by Igor Romanenko, an Ukrainian military expert, deputy chief of the General Staff of the ex-VSU General.. Many if not all statements were done in 2015. The 2nd anniversary seems a good reason to recycle the story. More here.by
